If you’re using eyelash primer for treatment benefits, apply one or two coats before going to bed or before wearing mascara. If you're using mascara primer for eyelash enhancement, follow the instructions below.
Application
- Apply a single coat and let it set for 30 seconds.
- If you’d like more coats, keep applying until you’ve achieved your desired lash volume, length, and separation. Let the primer set for 30 seconds between each coat.
Apply your mascara as usual. We recommend applying mascara just before the primer is fully dry to avoid clumping.
Removal
You can remove your eyelash primer with any makeup remover.

Does blinc black lash primer contain parabens?
No. The black lash primer formula is paraben-free.
Does this primer contain gluten or grain of any kind?
Yes. The black lash primer formula does include gluten.
Is blinc’s black eyelash primer waterproof or water-resistant?
The black lash primer will have the same water resistance as the mascara used over it. If you apply a water-resistant mascara, such as blinc mascaras, the primer will perform the same way.
Does the blinc black lash primer work with any kind of mascara?
Yes. Although it’s formulated to work best with blinc mascara, many users report excellent results with other mascara brands.
How do I remove blinc’s black lash primer?
You can remove the primer with any makeup remover.
If you’re using a tubing mascara over the primer, remove the tubing mascara first with water and light pressure, then use makeup remover to remove the primer.
Can I use the black lash primer with mascara that’s not black?
We don’t recommend it. Black primer pairs best with black mascara and may alter the shade of brown or colored mascaras, especially lighter shades.
However, our white lash primer is designed to retain the color of non-black mascaras and works as an excellent base for mascaras and eyebrow mousse.
How do I apply lash primer?
Apply the primer like mascara. Starting at the base of the lashes, sweep the brush upward to the tips while gently wiggling the wand to separate lashes.
Unlike traditional mascara, allow the primer to set for 30 seconds before applying another layer of primer or mascara.
Do you put lash primer on first or last?
Apply lash primer before mascara. For best results, lashes should be clean and free of lotions, serums, or other products.
How do I avoid clumps when using primer?
Make sure the brush doesn’t carry excess primer and wiggle the wand to separate lashes. Expired or dried-out primer can also cause clumping.
If mascara clumps after primer application, allow the primer to set for about 30 seconds before applying mascara. Primer that’s too dry can cause clumping.
If needed, experiment with different setting times to find what works best for you.
Can I wear just the primer without mascara?
Absolutely. Wearing primer alone enhances lashes while giving them a break from mascara. Many users wear it like a natural black mascara.
